Viet Tien Garment JSC, one of the leading companies in the garment-textile industry in Viet Nam, has set a goal of grossing US$1 billion in export turnover by 2020 with an annual average growth of 10 per cent.
Garment and textile industry exports in the first five months of this
year rose 6.1 per cent to US$8.6 billion, according to the Ministry of
Industry and Trade.
The domestic garment and textile sector has to import a large quantity
of cotton as the country''s cotton output met only 1 per cent of local
producers'' demand.
The garment and textile industry has achieved significant success in
the first quarter and its outlook for the whole year is optimistic, the
Ministry of Industry and Trade reports.
The development strategy for the domestic garment and textile industry
over the next 10 to 20 years should be adjusted to meet the needs of
global integration.
